Bruges has no traffic lights or busy ringroads, and is permeated by a 'bike culture', so people are well aware of cyclists; like other cities in Belgium, cycling is one of the most popular ways of getting around!

Flat, accessible kastelenroute (Castles). van Maerlenroute to the Netherlands. Easy to cycle around Bruges on the moats - full circle 8, 6km - park area.

Attractions/sights accessible by bicycle from the city centre:

The North Sea, beaches etc. (1 min), Historical city of Damme (25 mins), Border with the Netherlands (50 mins).
