Hamburg is Germany's Northern City, flat, riverside, and perfectly suited for a bicycle.

Elberadweg - 20km car free ride along the river Elbe. Alsterwanderwed - another cycle path along another river; more urban at the beginning and it ends up as a small river in the forest.

Attractions/sights accessible by bicycle from the city centre:

Elbphilharmonie (10 mins), Elbe beach (10 minutes), Portuguese Quarter (5 mins), Alster Lakes (10 mins), Schanzenviertel (5 mins).
